Chris and Grace would like to extend as warm a welcome to their website as they offer personally when greeting you at the door of the atmospheric Ship Inn in Pinchbeck, near Spalding, South Lincolnshire.

In the short time since taking on the Inn in August 2006 Chris and Grace have used the years of experience gained in the hospitality industry both nationally and internationally to restore many of the traditional values and "feel" associated with the Great British Village Inn.

The well stocked welcoming bar area has warm, cozy, firelit areas to relax and cradle a pint of traditional ale or sip slowly at a fine burgandy whilst the other end of the pub is light airy and looks out over the extensive garden with children's play area.

Chris is particularly proud of the progress they have made in the Plum Restaurant where head chef Nigel Fish really does take the phrase "Home made" literally, so much so that he feels that by the summer he will be able to confidently state that 99% of the menu will be home-made, with an absolute minimum of prepared food being bought in. See the restaurant pages for more details on The Ships philosophy toward food.

The varied and extensive menu is matched by the variety of beers, wines and spirits offered in the bar with a guest ale being offered every 3 weeks or so and also boasting a well stocked wine cellar.

Chris and Grace are eager to provide the village with regular social entertainment and currently host a well attended Sunday pub quiz every two weeks and are planning a range of events during the summer months. These events will be detailed on the "What's On" page as they are organised.
